Though the long shadow of Rome has stretched far beyond its own borders, its reach has yet
failed to cover all of Germania. Those untamed lands, filled with dark and forbidding forests, are
still held by countless fiercely independent native tribes. Many have been forced to bend the
knee before the banners of Rome, whilst others have fought bitterly to retain their ways of
life-often fruitlessly.
But Germanic priests and sages tell tales of other forces lurking in these lands: darker shapes
than marching legionaries move between the trees of those ancient forests, and rumors swirl in
towns and villages of nightmares lurking beyond their walls.
Beyond the eyes of civilization, and known only to a select few, inexplicable monsters only
whispered of in legend prowl, seeking to feast on the unwary. Fetid spawn of Mormo swarm and
multiply in foul breeding sites, protected by sinister cults whose members are visited in dreams
by creatures from beyond the stars. The immortal warrior-chieftain Herjan has gathered his
forces to dominate the native Germanic tribes, his efforts fuelled by either enlightenment or
madness born from Atlantean relics. As darkness looms and shadows gather, he schemes and
plots to send his substantial military might against Rome.
Here, in this ancient and mysterious land, the Hidden Wars play out in full. Those brave heroes
willing to confront the darkness will claim hidden knowledge and eternal glory-but terror,
insanity, and doom await those who fail.
