The Guild of Arcane Lore is a loose association of scholars whose study and practice involve esoteric knowledge. Some study magical phenomena, while others practice magic; many are only students in obscure but mundane fields. The differences are sometimes unclear. This article describes the origins and development of the guild and its organization, ranks, and subgroups. Details are also included about the major chantries of the guild.
