This simulation wargame covers the Japanese raid on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. The game is meant for two players, with one player taking on the role of the Japanese attackers, and the other the US defense forces. The game can easily be played solitaire, however.
Historically, the Japanese raid inflicted heavy damage and the US Fleet was nearly destroyed. With only its aircraft carriers left to oppose the Imperial Combined Fleet, the US was forced to rely on its secret code-breaking (Magic) and surprise raids to goad the Japanese into a reckless and decisive battle (at Midway).
The attack on Pearl Harbor was one of those decisive, epic events in military and world history, catapulting the USA into its present superpower status.
